There is often much confusion as to the training of a Naturopathic Doctor, and ND’s are often confused with nutritionists, homeopaths or energy workers.

Naturopathic Medicine is a field distinct from these various practices, and the difference lies in our training, scope of practice and our approach.

Naturopathic Doctors undergo 8 years of intensive training.

They must complete a 4-year honours undergraduate degree in a Science field. Following completion of this degree, they must then complete an additional 4 years at an accredited Naturopathic Medical Institution, including a 1-year residency program to complete their training.
