What is BHRT?
The growing interest in a more natural approach to hormone regulation has drawn attention on bioidentical hormones.
These hormones are identical in molecular structure to the hormones made in the body and are made from a plant chemical extracted from yams and soy.
Bioidentical hormone therapy (BHRT) is often referred to as “natural hormone therapy” because these hormones act in the body just like the hormones we naturally produce. The body can’t distinguish bioidentical hormones from the ones it makes on it’s own.
Bioidentical hormones are FDA-approved, and diminish many of the health risks and concerns associated with common hormone replacement therapy.
BHRT is suitable for both men and women.
* Bioidentical hormones are often used as co-management when we are addressing hormonal changes. Dr. Andi works in conjunction with an MD at P3 Health to determine if BHRT is right for you. *
